The Nutshell

The smallest pub in England - no really - it's now in the Guinness Book of Records. The public area measures 15ft x 7ft. and has some interesting curiosities like the smallest Times Newspaper & a tiny Billiard table. They once managed to jam 105 people and a dog in - just for a laugh….

Why the Cat in the window? We'll tell you if you order one - or you can visit the pub to find out. This is a corner ceramic with 22 ct gold on the fascia board.

Bygone Days Limited Painting

Limited Painting of 30

Michele has had house renovation on her mind for many months now, so it is not surprising that when asked to create a new limited painting she comes up with a furniture and times past subject!

Painted by Michele (MB & mouse mark on back) on the Dress Shop bisque (Bath)

Pussy Cat Palace Limited Painting

Limited Painting of 30

Cat welfare is close to the heart of Carol who paints this ceramic and most of our pieces which have featured cats. Carol & her family spent time raising money & promoting cat welfare and fostering & finding new homes for homeless cats.

The Juniper Tree LP20

Juniper is a heathland shrub of the cypress family. The berries from certain species are used as a spice in gin and European cuisine, and for scenting aftershave. Branches of the traditional Juniper communis are shown on the ceramic wall. The berry oil is utilised in aromatherapy for digestive, muscular and joint complaints and as an antiseptic. There is a history of burning juniper incense or oil for a purifying effect and a few drops can also be added to skin products.

This painting is on the Grantham model, a Limited Edition of 1000. Once the grocery owned by Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s father, it is currently run as a chiropractic clinic and shop called Living Health, which is similar to the Herbalist here. Herbs and potions are displayed in the lower windows.

Painted by Doreen Bright On Grantham LE1000

Floris

“Floris, the Perfumers have been operating at 89 Jermyn Street since 1730. A delightful building & one of the many in Jermyn St that Hazle would like to model. Note the gold & copper highlights. The interior contains some magnificent Spanish Mahogany Showcases from the Great Exhibition of 1851.

Established by a Portuguese Perfumer,, one of the quirkier things that happened in the shop, was the “laundering” of money. Because ladies of the period often wore long elegant gloves & money was quite dirty, Floris used to take the money they received from customers & wash & iron it. Change would be given to the customers on a velvet tray, still used today!! With service like this no wonder they hold Royal Warrants!! The building is directly opposite Prince Arcade, where you will find John English Gifts, one of our premier stockists & the shop where you can purchase this piece (as well as off the website) It is one of the smallest Limited Editions we have ever run.

Limited Edition of 500 only

Village Antiques

This late 1700s building from Uppingham was one of the first to be “listed”. On the early 1800s frontage the modelled and added items are just for this Limited Mould. Among the bric-à-brac, including an old vacuum cleaner and upturned wash tub, are some Art Nouveau pieces. An authentic period lamp leans against Blind Alley, with a distant figure in the back yard.

Limited to 250
