Welcome to Barleylands Craft Village in Ceramic!

If you have been to visit us at the workshop, you are bound to have taken a wander around the craft village.  Some time ago, Hazle decided to paint some of our neighbours craft stores to create a display for our studio, and now we are pleased to offer  the first of these ceramics as Limited Edition Paintings. There are a lot of Craft units in the Village now, not all suitable for our treatment, but we will offer a mixture of topics over the next year or so. Teddy Bear Shop

This creative studio, actually called Ju-Beary Bears, is right next to the Dolls House Cabin, and it’s owners Julie & Betty, are as busy as Santa’s Elves, sewing teddies of all sizes and styles!  They even mended Hazle’s own beloved Teddy.  In our version,  take a look at the tiny teddies in the window, beautifully painted by Carol.

Dolls House Cabin

This workshop can hand build your dream home! There are country cottages, stately homes, town houses from every period from Tudor to Victorian, there are village shops and even a church on offer, all in perfect miniature.

This is a family business going back 20 years and based at Barleylands for the last 16!  Dad makes the houses while Mum & daughter are busy creating the decor to fill them!  A limited painting of 20 ceramics, Dolls House Cabin will come with it’s own certificate signed by Hazle.

Rainbow Music

This studio is one of the busiest in the Craft Village! It stocks a wide range of musical instruments, sheet music, strings, plectrums and every other little thing a musician might need!   The walls are hung with ’Fender’  guitars – their speciality, and behind the shop and upstairs there are soundproofed studios where adults and children constantly arrive for classes!

Do-Do Dressmakers

This busy little studio is just across from ours, upstairs and couldn’t be better named, as Doreen, who runs it, is always doing something!

A Dressmaker for 60 years Doreen in the past created items for both Princess Diana and Ivana Trump before starting her own business at Barleylands.  This studio is a riot of colours, and gorgeous fabrics as it’s owner works on bridal wear, prom dresses, and stunning evening gowns, which hang on every available piece of wall and window!

Tylers Patch

Another near neighbour of ours at Barleylands, Tyler’s Patch, is a magnet for lovers of quilting, with displays of every type of fabric you could dream of, as Sue and her students make beautiful and unique quilts and hangings.

At present the studio is decked with pennants created for the nationwide charity Quilts4London, which is aiming to make one pennant each for all of the athletes taking part in next years London Olympics! Each one is hand made with care, and will be on display next year at the Olympic Venues.
