Popular British sports such as Rugby, Cricket, Football & Tennis developed significantly during the 19th C  as rules were unified & commercial development led to them becoming spectator sports. This ceramics is based on the famed Gilbert’s Rugby Shop in Rugby. It was also offered in a Limited Painting, as “They think it’s all over” a celebration of the 1966 World Cup victory for England’s football team, .

Painted in 2001, it uniquely has no painters mark & 2 straight awnings & unusual shadow lettering.
