Victorian Christmas

A Limited Painting of 30 ceramics created for Christmas 2016.  At the beginning of the 19th century Christmas was hardly celebrated at all, and many businesses did not close for the day.

One hundred years later, Christmas was the most widely celebrated holiday, and the traditions we still have today had begun!  The first Christmas card was produced in 1843, and the first Christmas crackers in 1848. Christmas trees became popular after Victoria and Albert were pictured with a decorated tree in 1848.

Our Victorian Christmas is painted on our Floris building and features highlights of pure gold.

Victorian Christmas is priced at £135.00 plus carriage/insurance

The Christmas Jumper Shop

Originally a Limited Painting of 20 ceramics created for Christmas 2019.  The Christmas Jumper has become as much a part of Christmas as mince pies, and yet this festive wear only started to become popular in the 1980s.

Slowly Christmas Jumpers became cool! The most fashionable High Street stores stock them, designers such as Ralph Lauren and Stella McCartney have produced versions, while vintage jumpers are becoming popular with collectors.

Painted on our Pork Pie shop, with specially made tiny ceramic jumpers added to the front.

The Christmas Jumper Shop is priced at £125.00 plus carriage/insurance

British Home Stores

From a limited Painting of 30 ceramics for Christmas 2016.

in 2016 we said a sad farewell to a much loved British shop after 88 years of trading. Once a staple of the British High Street, they were well known for lavish Christmas displays.  Painted on our Nutshell ceramic, here we see it in it’s 1950s heyday with the windows filled with a singing snowman and piles of toys ready to delight.

Highlights of real gold recall the days when ordinary folk saved for Christmas by paying each week into a Christmas saving club.

Colman’s Fish & Chips at Christmas

Limited painting of 20 ceramics, and available only during November and December 2012.

Colman’s Fish and Chips based in Ocean Road, South Shields, Tyne and Wear, was founded in 1905 by the Great Grandparents of the present owners, and started life as a small hut on the South Shields Foreshore.

Colman’s quickly grew, opening two more restaurants in the area, before moving into the building we have modelled in 1926, and later expanding into the next door shop too.

Colman’s Fish and Chips was recently featured among Great Britain’s ‘Food Heroes’  for using local seasonal produce, and serving only fish and seafood from sustainable and well managed fishing grounds.

Colman’s have won many awards for the quality of their food, and have featured in ‘The Good Food Guide’ in 2011 and 2012.  Read more about them at www.colmansfishandchips.com

Our Ceramics are individual! hand made and hand painted with care. Different artists style can vary, so a photo of one ceramic will not depict exactly every ceramic painted. They are hand made and individually finished. This also means the measurements can very slightly from one to another, but only by a millimetre or two.
