Dickens Day Out 2012

David was the guide for our walk.

On Saturday 24th March 2012 , 40 of our keen collectors, plus Hazle, Stephen, and the ‘ceramic girls’ Nicci, Iona & Elle, gathered outside Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese ready to step back in time, and enjoy a full day of Charles Dickens…And what a day if was!

The weather was amazingly good, the food and the atmosphere at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese was even better that expected, with groups of collectors seated in the Chop Room, and every level of the cellar bar.

After lunch, time for a chat

Our guided walk was led by David, who stood in for Jean at the very last moment, after Jean was suddenly taken ill. He impressed everyone with his knowledge of the life and works of Charles Dickens, and used his booming voice to great dramatic effect.

We arrived at the Dickens Museum with some sore feet amongst us, but everyone agreeing the walk was more than worthwhile, and very ready for a cup of tea and a look at our NEW Dickens Ceramic, The Charles Dickens Birthplace. If you came along, Thank you for joining us, we hope you enjoyed your ‘Day of Dickens’. What did we do next? email us or join our mailing list for further news as we moved the business on & eventually semi-retired, with Hazle creating more blogs/stories for your interest.
